THE DREW COLLINS SERIES By Granger

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tropes: Magical HBCU + Black Vampire Romance + Urban Fantasy

The Hook:

This series is an absolute ride from start to finish. It feels like College Hill meets Teen Wolf, but completely, unapologetically, and authentically Black—capturing the genuine culture, dialogue, and energy that reminds you there is real magic in being Black without relying on lazy stereotypes.

Why I Loved It:

The layered connection between Maggie and Amir is an emotional, beautifully paced slow burn, while chaotic, dysfunctional family dynamics add raw honesty to the supernatural world. From the ride-or-die friend group and the standout presence of Asha, to the intense, protective layer Bellamy brings to Maggie’s corner, every ounce of drama feels intentional. Even when the massive scope of the vampiric world gets a little chaotic, it balances family trauma, high-stakes mystery, and deep romance into a completely immersive universe that I loved bad.

✦ Final thought: A beautifully grounded supernatural drama wrapped in rich cultural roots that you don't just read—you live in it.
